STORM coach Craig Bellamy has emerged as a potential saviour for unwanted Roosters playmaker Jackson Hastings.
The 20-year-old is under contract to the Roosters for next season – but offside with coach Trent Robinson and destined to play for feeder club Wyong.
But the Storm have yet to sign a halves partner for Cooper Cronk following Blake Green’s move to Manly – although there are suggestions young gun Cameron Munster could be shifted to the halves to make way for the returning Billy Slater.
Hastings fits the mould of a Bellamy player perfectly – he has been written off by most clubs as not up to standard but is a keen worker who would thrive under the Storm coach’s strict regime.
The Roosters will happily let Hastings go for 2017 and may even pay some of his wage if a deal can be done.
English club Warrington has also shown interest in Hastings, but the son of Roosters legend Kevin is determined to stay in the NRL.
