THE Eels have announced their decision to stand down Kenny Edwards following his guilty plea in court.
Eels CEO Bernie Gurr released a statement where he confirmed that the club have stood down the versatile forward indefinitely.
Edwards pleaded guilty to assaulting his ex-girlfriend and was given a six-month good behaviour bond but escaped any conviction.
Edwards was said to have squirted water from a bottle at his former partner, as well as pouring a drink on her while she was in bed.
In their statement, the Eels have said they will have immediate discussions with the NRL Integrity Unit as to what the next steps will be.
