PARRAMATTA have taken heavy action against forward Kenny Edwards after a recent investigation into his legal case against his ex-partner.
The club has suspended Edwards for seven matches and has fined him a whopping $60,000. The forward will also not be permitted to train with the NRL side and instead will train with the club’s NSW Cup side.
Edwards pled guilty to common assualt in court last month where it was revealed he squirted water at his ex-partner’s face and then proceeded to pour a bottle of vodka cruiser on her while she was in bed.
“The club is of the opinion that Kenny has acted in breach of his National Rugby League Playing Contract (which covers the 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019 NRL seasons),” the club statement read.
“Under this contract, the club is permitted to take action including, but not limited to, caution, reprimand, a fine, suspension or termination.”
Edwards will be considered for selection in the Eels’ round eight clash against the Panthers at ANZ Stadium.
