THE YOUNGER brother of Test and State of Origin centre Michael Jennings is set to make his debut for South Sydney in a late switch for Saturday’s clash against Manly.
Robert Jennings, 21, switched to Souths from Penrith over the summer and has been named as 18th man by coach Michael Maguire.
But RLW has learned that Maguire is considering bringing the tall Jennings into his starting side in place of Siosifa Talaki.
Under the new NRL rules, coaches must name a 21-man squad on Tuesdays and pick their final 17 from that.
Jennings missed the top 17 on Tuesday but was named as 18th man.
Chief playmaker Adam Reynolds will also lineup for his first start of the season on Saturday after recovering well from appendix surgery.
The Rabbitohs were extremely disappointing first up against the Tigers and need a win to get their campaign on track.
Jennings debuted in 2015, managing five matches for the Panthers.
