THE KNIGHTS have announced the news that forward Mitch Barnett has signed a new year-year deal with the club.
Barnett, who spent some of his junior years with the Knights, will remain in the Hunter until at least the end of the 2020 season.
The 22-year-old says he’s delighted to stay on board at the club as they look to build on a positive start to the 2017 season.
“It’s a great opportunity for me to develop my game further and I’m very excited to be staying in Newcastle for another three years,” he said.
“The club has shown great faith in me and I want to repay them with hard work.
“I’ve just got to keep working week-to-week and improving my game and hopefully go through this rebuilding phase of the club to get it back to where it was.”
Coach Nathan Brown was pleased to hear Barnett had agreed to stay on with the club for another three years.
“Mitch epitomises the well known saying at this club and that is being a player other players want to play with,” said Brown.
