Lowe set to miss rest of the season

THE COWBOYS’ premiership hopes have suffered a massive blow with in-form back-rower Ethan Lowe almost certainly out for the season.

Cowboys management is attempting to play down the extent of the injury, telling the media that Lowe will be given a fitness test for Friday night’s huge clash against the Broncos tomorrow.

But RLW has heard that Lowe’s injury is a major neck problem and he is extremely unlikely to play again before 2017.

Rookie Coen Hess looks the best bet to replace Lowe in the starting side with John Asiata expected to come onto the bench.

In a further blow to the Cowboys, winger Antonio Winterstein (ribs) is also at long odds to play.

The RLW Mole reported that teen sensation Kalyn Ponga looks set to be given his first taste of first grade if Winterstein can’t go.

Meanwhile, the Broncos will replace the suspended James Roberts with recently re-signed rookie Tom Opacic, who has recovered from injury.
