SOUTH Sydney coach Michael Maguire says he is delighted by the way the club’s new signings have bought into what he is trying to do as the Rabbitohs seek a return to finals football in 2017.
Representative hooker Robbie Farah is clearly the club’s biggest buy, but former Newcastle forward Robbie Rochow is bound to have an impact as well.
Forward Anthony Cherrington, halfback Luke Kelly and outside back Robert Jennings are among the club’s other acquisitions.
“They’ve been really good,” Maguire says of the additions to the squad. “I don’t want to single one out, but I think they’ve all really bought into the values and who we are as a club and there are going to be some great opportunities for a lot of those players as we move forward.
“The competition on the park (at training) has been great and they have competed extremely well. We’ve laid the platform and they’ve earned their (Christmas-New Year) break and now we’ll move into January and they’ll come back in good shape and ready to go again.”
