THE PANTHERS have officially addressed reports that the club are chasing in-demand halfback Ben Hunt.
Despite media reports claiming that the club are rivaling the Dragons for the off-contract playmaker, the Panthers have made it clear that they have no interest in pursuing him.
“In response to media speculation, Panthers would like to make it clear that the club is not in the race to sign Ben Hunt,” Panthers general manager Phil Gould said.
“We have a number of talented youngsters at the club who we have brought through our development system and we are very happy with our playing roster as it stands.”
The announcement now leaves the Dragons likely to battle the Broncos for the halfback’s signature.
The Red V will reportedly table an offer close to $1 million per season to lure Hunt south of the border.
