HE may be about to turn 30, but Akuila Uate says he feels like a little kid again.
After nine seasons and over 100 tries for Newcastle, Uate has made the switch to Manly over the summer.
And despite the first-up loss to the Eels, Uate is loving the change.
“It has been great for me – it has really freshened me up,” Uate says.
“The new team has been really good in the pre-season and it’s probably what I needed – I feel like a kid again.
“I am loving the move and I think we are headed for a good year.
“Manly has a good squad and we will do well.”
Uate admits it was hard to leave the Knights after being a favourite son at the club.
“I loved the Knights but nothing lasts forever in football,” he says.
“This is a new opportunity for me and I am embracing it. So far it’s been great.”
